Getting myself sorted, and clean!

My house looks like a Chinese laundromats!  And as I am Chinese, and I've just put through a kazillion loads of laundry, hey, I guess it is!

RockWerchter was AWESOME!!!  It didn't turn out to be the expected mudfest, the bands were all really brilliant (bar a few *yawns*), and we all came out of it fungus-free!

Quick shortlist recap...
The good.
Beastie Boys - they still know how to get a sweaty shoving mass of people jumping
Kings of Leon - love the bluegrass tones
Kaiser Chiefs - woohooo, awesome working of the crowd, they're young but they've got it
  Pearl Jam - I will have Eddie's babies (notwithstanding I'm a posterchild for child-free!)
Snow Patrol - love them love them love them
The Killers - me, moshpit, armpits, no oxygen!
  Damien Rice - *hugs self*

The bad/so-so.
Razorlight - Ok music, bit generic. What is with that lead singer - total I-love-myself attitude.
Frank Black - awful disappointment.  No voice, no tune, no good!
Marilyn Manson - dude, get better make-up!  Good show tho.
Bloc Party - very f*ckable east-london-boy lead singer.  The music otherwise ordinary.

The new.
Finds of the festival for me
Dr Lektroluv - can't stop dancing!
Blonde Redhead - nice chillout with beat
John Legend - *curses* the lucky b*tch who got to slow&sexydance with him
  The Bravery - great tunes!
Interpol - really enjoyed them as I sat sculling down way too much jenever (Belgian flavoured gin)
The Van Jets - good rock sound
Oi Va Voi - now, who could stop laughing to the bar-mitzvah-slant music!?

Such a blast!  It was great the the Belgian cousin got us primo campsite, and they even lugged two massive gazebo tent things to give us shade/shelter.  Brilliant!  The cooler, slightly damp weather made it so much better when you're a portaloo-using cheapskate like me, and for being able to sleep in a tent after the big nights!

If Matt wasn't working, we'd so be there for Pukkelpop!  Mandy - it clashes with Lowlands, what's with that?!

Jason Fucking Dohring!
Thanks to Tasha, and reading up on everyone's ljs, I'm squeeing imagining Jason Dohring as a fast-talking, sexy, vampire.  I &hearts him to death (haha) and want him to succeed and get out there and be acknowledged - outside of us squeeing fangirls/boys- for how great he is!

The fantasties start here...

Dexter
Dexter starts on Sunday on FX channel in the UK - I can't wait. Looks brilliant and I'm trying not to spoil myself.  Michael C Hall was brilliant in Six Feet Under, looking forward to him really showing the talent here.  Seriously, a serial killer tv show - frickin' cool!

It sounds like so much fun, I'm glad you enjoyed yourself.
It is such great news about Jason, I can't wait to see him in the show. I just hope the show does well.

Glad you had a great time! I listened to some of the concerts on the radio, sounded great.
I saw Marilyn Manson a few years ago and was greatly disappointed with the uninspired 'shocking' performance. Whatever.

Pukkelpop clashes with Lowlands? Hmm. Well, wasn't planning on going there lol. I'm a Lowlands groupie, THE ultimate festival for me. And I'm going back as a visitor this year. YEAH. So, you're not coming? *pouts*

Marilyn Manson would not have been my first choice of people to go see. But hey, we thought we'd check out the show. I just kept wondering how he didn't stab himself with that mike-knife combo deal. Plus the bad make-up was very distracting.

Sorry we won't be coming to Lowlands. *sad puppy eyes* At the moment I don't even know if I'll be able to get Matt to take a break for his birthday in July, or our 10th anniversary in August!

What's a 'visitor'?

Yeah, my thoughts too: Well, he's here, so let's check him out. Kinda disappointing.

Well, he definetely needs to take a break for your anniversary. Tell him I said that. Maybe he'll listen, lol. Maybe next year then, Lowlands will always be fun!

Yeah, I was wondering if that came across, I wasn't too clear. Last year, I ddidn't have the cash to go to Lowlands, but arranged to work there for a day, so I could still kinda be there. This year I'm going as a paying all weekend festival party costumer!

I will definitely tell him!

It always looks pretty good to work at the festivals. Yeah you gotta do some yucky bits of work, but you get to listen to the music in between.

Nice to be able to party all weekend this time tho! *disco* your heart out lol

Woo, glad you had a good time ... that lineup is UNBELIEVABLE. I'm going to Austin City Limits Music Festival in September with loads o'the same band so your post has me all atwitter! YAY!

Michael C Hall was brilliant in Six Feet Under

God yes, I loved David and I was always peeved Peter Krause was the one who got all the kudos for that show. David and Ruth (love love love Frances Conroy) were my two faves.

Yay! You're going to have a blast at that Festival. Wow, just checked out the lineup - cool!

&HEARTS MCH in Dexter. Saw it, loved it, lost sleep over it! (over active imagination when I try and sleep) Think I shall have to tape it next time and watch at a non just-before-bed moment.

I've gotten bored with Pearl Jam's albums, but they do know how to put on one hell of a good concert. I would LOOOVE to see Damien Rice live. He's great.

Awww, Frank Black was no good?! He's usually brilliant. I never could get in to Manson's music. As a public figure he fascinates me, but his music is blech. The only songs I ever like are his covers. LOL.

I have heard nothing but good things about John Legend. I'm going to have to check him out.

Glad you had fun! I can't imagine how insane that festival must be.

I'm still totally geeked over the news of Jason's new show. CAN'T WAIT FOR THE FALL SEASON NOW!!!

Dexter is awesome. I think you'll enjoy it.

Sam, I love the Rob-o-Vision icon!

Yeah Pearl Jam's music hasn't really gone anywhere for a decade now. But a fantastic show! And Vedder is just sexy in that drunken, f*cked up, but totally talented, Gary Oldman kinda way. Ok, it could just be me, and I AM weird.

Marilyn Manson's covers are great! Tainted Love - the vid!

The festival is pretty full-on, but also so well-organised and chilled out. Still very exhausting and we struggled through the rest of the week of work. Had a complete no-brainer, no-movement weekend!

You totally have to keep me posted on Moonlight when the fall season starts. Who knows when we'll see it here.

Watched the first episode of Dexter last night on tv. Awesome! MCH is so good in that role! Made for some whacky dreams and crapped out sleep pattern last night tho'.
